This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that George Dalaras has. After debuting at No. 1 last week, George Dalaras’s album Ta Tragoudia Mas falls to No. 2 with 734,000, a sales slide of 70%. This is the first studio album from George Dalaras since bad diagnosis in 1976. This album is a scorcher!
I have all of George Dalaras’s tracks and Pagwse H Tsiminiera is probably the most his introspective effort. Sth Douleia Kai Ston Agwna is another strong production from George Dalaras. O Stratos defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. I like the idea behind Rhmazan Ta Xoria Mas. I hope to keep hearing George Dalaras works for a long time to come. Ax Patrida Mou Kahmeni is simple, dignified and effective, George Dalaras refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Allo Tipota Den Menei is probably the highlight of the album. Megara is possibly the best song George Dalaras has come up. Ta Tragoudia Mas couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Metanastes. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of George Dalaras.
