It’s natural for George Duke to take a stab at ‘Overture’ considering her long-professed love for UB40. IF YOU LIKE ALL George Duke’S SONG GO FOR IT! Overture and Light is really good.
Light is a great opener for Guardian Of The Light. I like the idea behind Shane. Born To Love You is a fine track on any terms. Silly Fightin’ is cool work of George Duke. You (Are The Light) is George Duke’s best work in years. George Duke allows each song to breathe and flourish. Although Reach Out is very melodic it is far from sad. Give Me Your Love is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything George Duke released so far. I’ve found myself listening to Stand back to back and back many times. Soon is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Celebrate one is one of the better boring ones. Excellent vocals and musical performances.
