When you buy a Gilbert O’Sullivan album, you know exactly what you’re getting! It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Gilbert O’Sullivan energies, virtually a rebirth. It’s natural for Gilbert O’Sullivan to take a stab at ‘Intro’ considering her long-professed love for Army of Lovers. This is one of Gilbert O’Sullivan best albums
The song January Git ending is my favorite… so catchy! Voice and instruments in Bye complement each other. Permissive Twit is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Matrimony gives taste of what makes Gilbert O’Sullivan special as a musician. Independent Air is a great opener for Himself. Still going through Himself and coming to appreciate Nothing Rhymed more and more with every listen. When I listen to Too Much Attention in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Susan Van Heusen is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Gilbert O’Sullivan released so far. If I Don’t Get (Back Again) is a strong cut, one of many. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Gilbert O’Sullivan. Doing The Best I Can - My least favorite song on this album. Outro had me crying as I was able to relate so well. We Will - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Underneath The Blanced Go is absolutely incredible. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer.
