This is the first studio album from Herb Alpert since bad diagnosis in 1970. It has been four years Herb Alpert’ last studio CD, “Going places” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. There is no doubt that Herb Alpert has talent. This album is awesome.
This track is just fantastic from start to finish. The song feels complete. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. ALPERT, HERB - Walk, Don’t Run - Herb Alpert first major hit. Alpert, Herb & The Tijuana Brass — Mae - This is a very lively song. Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass - Cinco De Mayo still maintains something of a specific flourish. Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass - Felicia is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass - Zorba The Greek is the albums biggest surprise. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Going places. Within the first few notes of Herb Alpert - More And More Amor it’s perfectly clear that Herb Alpert is living this song. Herb Alpert The Tijuana Brass 3rd Man Theme - I like this one.
