There is so much to love about Horace Silver, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. When you buy a Horace Silver album, you know exactly what you’re getting! After debuting at No. 1 last week, Horace Silver’s album A Night at Birdland, Vol. 1 falls to No. 2 with 731,000, a sales slide of 79%. Such great and happy songs.
It took me a little time but I ended up loving Split Kick. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Quicksilver as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. A Night in Tunisia had me crying as I was able to relate so well. The first time I listened to Mayreh I was struck by its excellent sound. Wee-dot is really a nice song to relax and listen too. This song is dynamic and dramatic.
