thirteen years ago, Hot Tuna briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Watch The North Wind Rise”. ‘Hoppkorv’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Bun B. Hear has compared writing for Hot Tuna’s new album to that on ‘Hoppkorv’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. This album is awesome.
Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Watch The North Wind Rise. It’s such an underrated song. Bowlegged Woman, Knock-Kneed Man is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Drivin Around - a classic song. Hot Tuna is one of artists that allow his songs like I Wish You Would to stand on their own and be heard. I Can’t Be Satisfied is probably the highlight of the album. Talking Bout You is the cool blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Extrication Love Song is one of the best records ever. This is one hell of a track.
