After seeing L’aventurier, I had to have a good Indochine cd. Thom Yorke has compared writing for Indochine’s new album to that on ‘L’aventurier’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Lead single “L’aventurier” and “L’opportuniste” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. L’aventurier is not something you should pass up.
L’opportuniste is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Docteur love still maintains something of a specific flourish. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Indochine. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Dizzidence Politik is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Francoise, qu’est-ce qui t’as pris is the first taste of the new album.
