Since Inti-Illimani last CD (5: Canto De Pueblos Andinos, Vol. 2) on ForeFront Records back in 1976, I have felt a massive void in my life. This is one of the best Cd’s Inti-Illimani has dropped to date. This disc has all of the essential Inti-Illimani classics. IT makes me wanna dance!
It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Pascua Linda is the song that really did it for me. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Estudio Para Charango is such a gorgeous and optimistic song that things can get just better. Se Chichera is possibly the best song Inti-Illimani has come up. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. I hope to keep hearing Inti-Illimani works for a long time to come. Some of the arrangements found on 5: Canto De Pueblos Andinos, Vol. 2 are surprisingly edgy. Solo de Quena is a song to enjoy for years to come. In San Juanito the music gets its power. Ma Me Voy Pa’L Norte is the funkiest number on the album.
