‘Flight Of The Condor’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Now signed to Inti-Illimani’s Sparrow Records, the title track from second album “Flight Of The Condor” leads Inti-Illimani’s back-to-school campaign. Self-described as Latin with lots of words, Inti-Illimani comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. One of Inti-Illimani’s best albums yet.
Alturas (The Heights) to me is the best you can get from Inti-Illimani. De Terciopelo Negro (Black Velvet) defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Dolencias (My Sorrows) - arguably the best track on Flight Of The Condor album. Get Flight Of The Condor and turn on A Vos Te H’ai Pesar (You’ll Be Upset) if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Sicuriadas (Playing Sicus Together) - Check out that bassline! Danza De Los Quechuas (Dance Of Quechuas) is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Papel De Plata (Silver Paper) on Flight Of The Condor is solid and easy to listen to. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. A Vos Te H’ai Pesar (You’ll Be Upset) is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. La Mariposa (The Butterfly) is possibly the best song Inti-Illimani has come up. After few listenings I started to like Mi Raza (My Race) - Guamary more and more. When listening to Tema De La Quebrada De Humahuaca ( Humahuaca Gorge Theme), it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Vasija De Barro (Earthenware Jar) actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Inti-Illimani’s face. I love the melodic melody of Huajra (Horn) and to this day it makes me feel good. Lonquita - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Llanto De Mi Madre (My Mother’s Tears) is a very catchy tune. Calambito Temucano is the song that really did it for me.
