Since completing 1980’s ’stworzenie swiata’, Jacek Kaczmarski fulfilled their contract with SixSteps records and where under no obligation to release another album. Raj isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Jacek Kaczmarski on ’stworzenie swiata’. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
sprawozdanie z raju is the first taste of the new album. Within the first few notes of bal u pana boga it’s perfectly clear that Jacek Kaczmarski is living this song. przesluchanie aniola is perfect. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. wladca ciemnosci is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. I think wygnanie z raju is the best song Jacek Kaczmarski has ever done. When listening to pusty raj, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. wieza babel is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. hymn is beautiful, yet underrated track. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Raj couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track hiob. The song rzez niewiniatek ending is my favorite… so catchy! In chrystus i kupcy it becomes nowhere more obvious that Jacek Kaczmarski has yet to define own style. Jacek Kaczmarski rocks harder than ever with dzien gniewu. One listen to the sheer beauty of u wrot doliny was all I needed. Get Raj and turn on powrot if you are going to sip your wine late at night.
