Lead single “The Overture” and “Arpegiator” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Concerts In China is an amazing album, racked with beauty. On the Cyprus charts, superstar Jean Michel Jarre’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. To me Jean Michel Jarre is the best band ever.
Arpegiator - To me, this is the best song on the Concerts In China. This song is dynamic and dramatic. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. The sound of Band In The Rain is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Equinoxe Vii is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Orient Express is nothing but pure genius. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Magnetic Fields Iii - This one is lively and fun. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Magnetic Fields Iv. The song feels complete. Once you hear Night In Shanghai, you will listen to it over and over. The Last Rumba is a gorgeous, simple song by Jean Michel Jarre at the top of his game. I like to sing along with Magnetic Fields Ii, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Souvenir Of China is the more seemingly obscure song on Concerts In China that bear up best to repeated listening.
