After seeing Whole Lotta Shakin’ Going On (, I had to have a good Jerry Lee Lewis cd. Complete Sun Years (1956-1963) (Cd2) is an amazing album, racked with beauty.When you buy a Jerry Lee Lewis album, you know exactly what you’re getting! I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Jerry Lee Lewis ever.
The sound in False Starts To is really warm and Jerry Lee Lewis’s signature voice is still very much present. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think It’ll Be Me (Unissued) is my favorite song on Complete Sun Years (1956-1963) (Cd2). First time I heard It’ll Be Me (Single Master) was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Some of the arrangements found on Complete Sun Years (1956-1963) (Cd2) are surprisingly edgy. You Win Again had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Best song on the album, love it. As always, Jerry Lee Lewis’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. This song stands out greatly from the others. What sets Pumpin’ Piano Rock apart is Jerry Lee Lewis’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. The first time I listened to It’ll Be Me (Lp Master) I was struck by its perfect sound. Lyrics of All Night Long are precise and evocative. Album opener Old Time Religion is a bright, upbeat ditty. When The Saints Go Marchin’ In is the album’s biggest hit, I think. A great put together song. Long Gone Lonesome Blues has a fun tempo. I listened to the opening track Drinkin’ Wine, Spo-Dee-O-Dee and liked it a lot. Singing The Blues is a very catchy tune. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Matchbox is the more seemingly obscure song on Complete Sun Years (1956-1963) (Cd2) that bear up best to repeated listening. Ubangi Stomp is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Rock & Roll Ruby - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. So Long, I’m Gone very upbeat. Jerry Lee Lewis is one of artists that allow his songs like Ooby Dooby to stand on their own and be heard. Jerry Lee Lewis has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. You Win Again (Undubbed Master is one of the more up-tempo songs on Complete Sun Years (1956-1963) (Cd2). Within the first few notes of I’m Feeling Sorry it’s perfectly clear that Jerry Lee Lewis is living this song. The song feels complete. Mean Woman Blues good vocals. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Complete Sun Years (1956-1963) (Cd2).
