This is one of the best Cd’s Jerry Lee Lewis has dropped to date. Complete Sun Years (1956-1963) (Cd5) is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Jim Jones has compared writing for Jerry Lee Lewis’s new album to that on ‘Complete Sun Years (1956-1963) (Cd5)’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Such great and happy songs.
Album opener Break Up (Unissued) is a bright, upbeat ditty. I’ll Make It All Up To You (Un is nothing but pure genius. I love the melodic melody of Break Up (Unissued) and to this day it makes me feel good. Johnny B. Goode make listening to Jerry Lee Lewis like being in some sort of time warp. Break Up (Master) is a striking and quite long song. I’ll Make It All Up To You is a good listen every once in a while. Drinkin’ Wine, Spo-Dee-O-Dee is the funkiest number on the album. Blew our minds when we first heard I’ll Sail My Ship Alone. It Hurt Me So catches attention immediately, The sound of You’re The Only Star (In My Bl is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. It Hurt Me So is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. I like the agression and power of Lovin’ Up A Storm (Unissued). Big Blon’ Baby is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Jerry Lee Lewis breathes new life into the music in Lovin’ Up A Storm. In Sick And Tired you won’t find any flashy solos. (Just A Shanty In Old) Shanty is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Jerry Lee Lewis ever produced. Release Me is really a nice song to relax and listen too. False Start & I Could Never Be is probably the highlight of the album. Near You (Takes 1 & 2) - Okay, I just talked about depth. I Could Never Be Ashamed Of Yo is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. In Hillbilly Fever Jerry Lee Lewis is at his best. I hope to keep hearing Jerry Lee Lewis works for a long time to come. If you are a Jerry Lee Lewis fan, you will love My Blue Heaven. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think False Start Let’s Talk About U is my favorite song on Complete Sun Years (1956-1963) (Cd5). One listen to the sheer beauty of Little Queenie was all I needed. Home - another great track from the Complete Sun Years (1956-1963) (Cd5) album. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Ballad Of Billy Joe is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. I like the idea behind Sail Away. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor.
