This album has some very good songs like Night Train To Memphis and I’m The Guilty One. Lead single “Night Train To Memphis” and “I’m The Guilty One” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. John Digester has compared writing for Jerry Lee Lewis’s new album to that on ‘Complete Sun Years (1956-1963) (Cd6)’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. I’m The Guilty One - My least favorite song on this album. Let’s Talk About Us have really caught my ear and imagination. The Wild Side Of Life (Stereo) is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Charming Billy (Stereo) is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Jerry Lee Lewis rocks harder than ever with My Bonnie (Stereo). Mexicali Rose (Slow) is a striking and quite long song. Mexicali Rose (Fast) marked the continuation of Jerry Lee Lewis in style evolution. Gettin’ In The Mood is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. In The Mood is astounding. I Get The Blues When It Rains is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Jerry Lee Lewis ever produced. Strong, powerful vocals of Jerry Lee Lewis in I Get The Blues When It Rains are very impressive. Don’t Drop It great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Voice of Jerry Lee Lewis in Great Speckled Bird is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Great Speckled Bird - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Bonnie B. rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Baby, Baby Bye Bye - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Jerry Lee Lewis. Jerry Lee Lewis emotions are reflected through Baby, Baby Bye Bye. Jerry Lee Lewis sings his heart out in False Starts & I Can’t Help It. Old Black Joe make listening to Jerry Lee Lewis like being in some sort of time warp. Overall a nice softer song. Old Black Joe gets you up and jumping. Bonnie B. is the funkiest number on the album. As Long As I Live (Unissued) (2:27) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Music of As Long As I Live is gentle, never overbearing. What’d I Say - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Jerry Lee Lewis has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Hang Up My Rock And Roll Shoes - Jerry Lee Lewis first major hit. This track is clearly meant to showcase Jerry Lee Lewis’s vocal abilities. Jerry Lee Lewis must have run out of lyrics on the next track What’d I Say (Stereo). C. C. Rider (Stereo) is the most memorable and marvelous.
