On Jumpin’ Jive album, Joe Jackson have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. After seeing Jumpin’ With Symphony Sid, I had to have a good Joe Jackson cd. It’s natural for Joe Jackson to take a stab at ‘Jumpin’ With Symphony Sid’ considering her long-professed love for Led Zeppelin. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Jumpin’ Jive.
Jack, You’re Dead is gorgeous and different song. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. We The Cats (Shall Hep Ya) is a cool, simple song by Joe Jackson at the top of his game. San Francisco Fan - I just love it. Joe Jackson emotions are reflected through Five Guys Named Moe. In Jumpin’ Jive the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. You Run Your Mouth (And I’ll Run My Business) - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. What’s The Use Of Getting Sober (When You’re Gonna Get Drunk Again) has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. As always, Joe Jackson’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. How Long Must I Wait For You is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day.
