‘The Transfiguration Of Blind Joe Death’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This is one of the best Cd’s John Fahey has dropped to date. Self-described as Folk with lots of words, John Fahey comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Last Hot Album by John Fahey
In Orinda-Moraga the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. I Am The Resurrection is a great opener for The Transfiguration Of Blind Joe Death. On The Sunny Side Of The Ocean is one of the best records ever. I can’t stop humming along Tell Her To Come Back Home. My Station Will Be Changed After Awhile is really the reason why I recommend buying The Transfiguration Of Blind Joe Death. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. How Green Was My Valley is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Bicycle Built For Two is a bit of a show-tune. A unique and uplifting song. Brenda’s Blues is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Old Southern Medley is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. I now have Come Back Baby as one of my personal favorites. Poor Boy is a strong cut, one of many. Saint Patrick’s Hymn can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what John Fahey is all about.
