When you buy a John Williams album, you know exactly what you’re getting! After seeing Main Titles, I had to have a good John Williams cd. Since completing 1982’s ‘Main Titles’, John Williams fulfilled their contract with Columbia Records and where under no obligation to release another album. I Love E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial from start to finish!
Far From Home, E.T. Alone - A catchy, upbeat tune. Simple and heartfelt closing track Bait For E.T. closes E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial on a high note. Meeting E.T. on E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is solid and easy to listen to. I came to like E.T.’s New Home. The Beginning Of A Friendship is probably the highlight of the album. Blew our minds when we first heard Toys. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Strong, powerful vocals of John Williams in E.T.’s Powers are very impressive. The song E.T. And Elliott Get Drunk ending is my favorite… so catchy! John Williams allows each song to breathe and flourish. In At Home it becomes nowhere more obvious that John Williams has yet to define own style. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. Sending The Signal is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Invading Elliott’s House is one of the best records ever. E.T. Is Dying is the more seemingly obscure song on E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial that bear up best to repeated listening. Losing E.T. one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Only one song from E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial named E.T. Is Alive! really got me. Charming song, great melody. End Credits is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction.
