Jon and Vangelis’s debut, ‘The Friends Of Mr Cairo’, does not fit easily into one genre. It’s natural for Jon and Vangelis to take a stab at ‘I’ll Find My Way Home’ considering her long-professed love for EMF. There is no doubt that Jon and Vangelis has talent. Exciting stuff.
Some call State Of Independence from The Friends Of Mr Cairo as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. A great put together song. After you’ve listened to The Mayflower, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. The Friends Of Mr Cairo - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Back To School is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Outside Of This (Inside Of…) is the albums biggest surprise.
