Songs Of Love and Hate isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. This nine-song debut EP shows the promise that Leonard Cohen has. There is so much to love about Leonard Cohen, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. IT makes me wanna dance!
It took me a little time but I ended up loving Last Year’s Man. Such hits like Dress Rehearsal Rag will leave you hooked. Only one song from Songs Of Love and Hate named Diamonds In The Mine really got me. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. I like Famous Blue Raincoat because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. I loved Sing Another Song, Boys the first time I heard it. Joan Of Arc is worth the money.
