This is the first studio album from Les Paul and Mary Ford since bad diagnosis in 1958. Lead single “All Night Long” and “Bye Bye Blues” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. After seeing All Night Long, I had to have a good Les Paul and Mary Ford cd. This album is in perfect progression from Les Paul and Mary Ford!
This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. This track is full of harmonies and gets Les Paul and Mary Ford off to a relaxing start. Overall a nice softer song. This song is dynamic and dramatic. How High The Moon - Okay, I just talked about depth. Opening track I Am My Love’s shows the best of Les Paul and Mary Ford. I’m A Fool To Care is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. This track is clearly meant to showcase Les Paul and Mary Ford’s vocal abilities. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Jealous is nothing but pure genius. I can’t stop playing Johnny Is The Boy For Me. Lady Of Spain have really caught my ear and imagination. Lonely Guitar is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Lover without a doubt is the standout song of Les Paul and Mary Ford. Magic Melody is absolutely incredible. I hope to keep hearing Les Paul and Mary Ford works for a long time to come. Les Paul and Mary Ford breathes new life into the music in Mockin’ Bird Hill. Mr. Sandman great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Lyrics of Nola are precise and evocative. Les Paul and Mary Ford is one of artists that allow his songs like Prisoner Of Love to stand on their own and be heard. Put A Ring On My Finger is cool work of Les Paul and Mary Ford. Sing To Me Gypsy is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Smoke Rings - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Les Paul and Mary Ford. St.louis Blues - This one is lively and fun. Tennesee Waltz is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Th Street Rag - A classic Les Paul and Mary Ford track. Les Paul and Mary Ford couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track That Old Feeling. The Best Things In Life Are Free is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. The Jazz Me Blues is the more seemingly obscure song on Les Paul and Mary Ford that bear up best to repeated listening. Vocals of Les Paul and Mary Ford in The World Is Waiting For The Sunrise really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. If you are a Les Paul and Mary Ford fan, you will love Tico-tico. Tiger Rag is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Vaya Con Dios is the amazing blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. In Whispering it becomes nowhere more obvious that Les Paul and Mary Ford has yet to define own style.
