While no new Louis Armstrong and Duke ellington album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1961 tour in Australia. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like The Great Reunion.
I think solitude is the best song Louis Armstrong and Duke ellington has ever done. don’t get around much anymore is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. ‘m beginning to see the light is the more seemingly obscure song on The Great Reunion that bear up best to repeated listening. just squeeze me is probably the highlight of the album. I got it bad and that ain’t good is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Louis Armstrong and Duke ellington. cotton tail. I just LOVE this mix! mood indigo is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through The Great Reunion. do nothin’ till you hear from me has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. black and tan fantasy. is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Louis Armstrong and Duke ellington breathes new life into the music in drop me off in harlem.. the mooche - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. in a mellowtone. catches attention immediately,
