Thom Yorke has compared writing for Luis Eduardo Aute’s new album to that on ‘De par en par’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. De par en par isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Lead single “De par en par” and “Elijo la locura (aleluya nm. 4)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. De par en par and Elijo la locura (aleluya nm. 4) is really good.
Elijo la locura (aleluya nm. 4) makes a person feel gorgeous. Humo sobre humo as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. I like to sing along with De noche todo el da, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Un ramo de viento - another great track from the De par en par album. Queda la msica gives taste of what makes Luis Eduardo Aute special as a musician. Overall a nice softer song. Sigo a la mar is another favourite of mine. In Todo por sentir it becomes nowhere more obvious that Luis Eduardo Aute has yet to define own style. A vivir is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo.
