There is no doubt that Marc Almond has talent. Since Marc Almond last CD (Torment and Toreros (CD1)) on SixSteps records back in 1983, I have felt a massive void in my life. Self-described as New Age with lots of words, Marc Almond comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This album is awesome.
It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. After you’ve listened to The Bulls, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Catch A Fallen Star is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. The Animal In You is Marc Almond’s best work in years. Some call In My Room from Torment and Toreros (CD1) as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. First Time - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Excellent vocals and musical performances. I believe Once Was is one of the most excellent, heartfelt songs ever written.
