Local Hero isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. After seeing The Rocks and the Water, I had to have a good Mark Knopfler cd. I am not a real Soundtrack music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Local Hero’ really is amazing. Last Hot Album by Mark Knopfler
Wild Theme is astounding. Freeway Flyer - This one makes me want to not only sing along. A fantastic track full of wonder. The Way It Always Starts is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Blew our minds when we first heard The Rocks and the Thunder. The Ceilidh and the Northern L gives taste of what makes Mark Knopfler special as a musician. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Local Hero. The Ceilidh- Louis’ Favourite is marvelous work of Mark Knopfler. Whistle Theme one is one of the better boring ones. After few listenings I started to like Smooching more and more. This is one hell of a track. In The Rocks and the Thunder the music gets its power. The opening track Going Home (Theme Of the Local is very much like you would expect from other albums.
