It has been eight years Milt Jackson With Joe Pass and Ray Brown’ last studio CD, “The Big 3″ which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. ‘The Big 3′ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Lead single “The Pink Panther” and “Nuages” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. The Big 3 constantly brilliant.
When listening to Nuages, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Blue Bossa is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Come Sunday is a perfect song and it grows on you. This song may be the most meaningful. Moonglow is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. You Stepped Out Of A Dream which is my favorite is a truly Milt Jackson With Joe Pass and Ray Brown sounding song. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Blues For Sammy.
