This disc has all of the essential Nazareth classics. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Nazareth on ‘All Nite Radio’. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Nazareth’s album Sound Elexir falls to No. 2 with 649,000, a sales slide of 64%. Sound Elexir is the best essence of Nazareth.
Milk and Honey is a excellent song and it grows on you. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Sound Elexir is Whippin’ Boy. Rain On The Window as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Backroom Boys. Don’t judge Why Don’t You Read The Book on the first listening. I Ran is the most memorable and cool. Rags To Riches is outstanding work of Nazareth. Local Still is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Where Are You Now has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Nazareth’s strong vocals come to the fore. On The Run (B-Side) - This is a very lively song.
