When you buy a Nina Hagen album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Since completing 1979’s ‘TV-Glotzer (White Punks On Dope)’, Nina Hagen fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. While no new Nina Hagen album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1979 tour in Australia. This album is awesome.
Rangehn is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Unbeschreiblich Weiblich - I just love it. Auf’m Bahnhof Zoo is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. A unique and uplifting song. Superboy one is one of the better boring ones. Heiss stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Fisch Im Wasser is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. In Auf’m Friedhof it becomes nowhere more obvious that Nina Hagen has yet to define own style. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Der Spinner. I’ve found myself listening to Pank back to back and back many times.
