‘The Godfather’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Since completing 1972’s ‘Main Title (The Godfather Waltz)’, Nino Rota fulfilled their contract with ForeFront Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This is the first studio album from Nino Rota since bad diagnosis in 1972. The Godfather is not something you should pass up.
Lyrics of I Have But One Heart are precise and evocative. The Pickup is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. This track is full of harmonies and gets The Godfather off to a relaxing start. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. There is gorgeous mix of music in Sicilian Pastorale. Love Theme From The Godfather is nothing but pure genius. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Apollonia - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. I now have The New Godfather as one of my personal favorites. The Baptism make listening to Nino Rota like being in some sort of time warp. The Godfather Finale is astounding and different song.
