Horses isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. It has been sixteen years Patti Smith’ last studio CD, “Horses” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. ‘Horses’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Exciting stuff.
Break It Up is nothing but pure genius. Elegie is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Free Money is Patti Smith’s best work in years. Gloria is one of these floating songs. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. I loved Land the first time I heard it. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Horses.
