Now signed to Paul Mauriat’s Sparrow Records, the title track from second album “Last Summer Day” leads Paul Mauriat’s back-to-school campaign. On Last Summer Day album, Paul Mauriat have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. It has been six years Paul Mauriat’ last studio CD, “Last Summer Day” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This is one of Paul Mauriat best albums
In Ebb Tide the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Quand Vient L’ete stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. On The Beach (Sur La Plage) - I like this one. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. This song may be the most meaningful. Best song on the album, love it. Day By Day (Jour Et Nuit; Extrait De Godspell) still maintains something of a specific flourish. I Don’t Know How To Love Him (Chanson De Marie Madeleine; Extrait De Jesus Christ Superstar) is such a excellent and optimistic song that things can get just better. Que Sera on Last Summer Day is solid and easy to listen to. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Melody Fair because the melody in the chorus is so good. Paul Mauriat has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving.
