This thirteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Paul Mauriat has. ‘Paul Mauriat Plays Love Theme’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Lead single “Generique-Bande Original Du Film Les Parapluies De Cherbourg” and “The Sound Of Silence” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This is my first Paul Mauriat Album and i must say i am blown away.
The Sound Of Silence is pretty funky and mellow. Adagio Du Concerto Pour Hautbois Et Orchestre A Cordes En Do Mineur De Alessandro Marcello - A nice song. Donne Ton Coeur, Donne Ta Vie - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Paul Mauriat. A unique and uplifting song. 13 Jours En France is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Paul Mauriat Plays Love Theme have ended. Si Douce A Mon Souvenir is Paul Mauriat’s best work in years. Paul Mauriat allows each song to breathe and flourish. Some You Win Some You Lose is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. La Lecon Particuliere gives good insight into the truths. This track is clearly meant to showcase Paul Mauriat’s vocal abilities. Blew our minds when we first heard Romeo and Juliet.
