Black Box isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. sixteen years ago, Peter Hammill briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Losing Faith in Words”. This is one of the best Cd’s Peter Hammill has dropped to date. If you love Peter Hammill as much as I do, then Peter Hammill Black Box is the CD for you!
This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Jargon King is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Fogwalking is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Spirit is the albums biggest surprise. Nice and different song. The opening track Wipe is very much like you would expect from other albums. This track is just fantastic from start to finish.
