There is so much to love about Peter Hammill, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This album has some very good songs like Modern and Wilhelmina. This disc has all of the essential Peter Hammill classics. Such great and happy songs.
Some of the arrangements found on The Silent Corner and The Empty are surprisingly edgy. The Lie (Bernini’s Saint There can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Peter Hammill is all about. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Peter Hammill. In Red Shift Peter Hammill spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Peter Hammill offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Peter Hammill emotions are reflected through A Louse Is Not A Home.
