This is the first studio album from Pink Floyd since bad diagnosis in 1983. On The Final Cut album, Pink Floyd have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Lead single “The Post War Dream” and “Your Possible Pasts” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Great Rock right here!
It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Your Possible Pasts, which shows, blatantly, how much Pink Floyd has evolved as a singer. I think One Of The Few is the best song Pink Floyd has ever done. The Hero’s Return is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. The Gunner’s Dream great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Paranoyd Eyes - My least favorite song on this album. Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert gets you up and jumping. The Fletcher Memorial Home - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. It’s such an underrated song. The Final Cut is really a nice song to relax and listen too. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Not Now John. Two Suns In The Sunset is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit.
