Bella ‘Mbriana is an amazing album, racked with beauty.After seeing Ma Che Mania, I had to have a good Pino Daniele cd. Lead single “Ma Che Mania” and “Toledo” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This album is a scorcher!
Toledo has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Pino Daniele’s strong vocals come to the fore. Io Vivo Come Te had me crying as I was able to relate so well. I Got the Blues - Check out that bassline! Mo Basta is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Tarumbo is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Annare is one of the coolest songs Pino Daniele has ever recorded. Tutta Nata Stor gives taste of what makes Pino Daniele special as a musician. Listening to E Po Che Fa you can hear that Pino Daniele has still amazing chemistry with band members. Album opener Maggio Se Ne Va is a bright, upbeat ditty.
