Lead single “Put Your Love In Me” and “Stop” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Plasmatics’s debut, ‘Coup D’Etat’, does not fit easily into one genre. It has been nine years Plasmatics’ last studio CD, “Coup D’Etat” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Coup D’Etat is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Stop - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Rock ‘n Roll has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Lightning Breaks is so unique, as each one of the songs is. No Class is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. This is one hell of a track. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Coup D’Etat. Just Like On TV - Check out that bassline! This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Plasmatics. Uniformed Guards is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction.
