On the Sweden charts, superstar Plasmatics’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Plasmatics’s debut, ‘New Hope For The Wretched’, does not fit easily into one genre. It’s natural for Plasmatics to take a stab at ‘Tight Black Pants’ considering her long-professed love for Ondskapt. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
I think Monkey Suit is the best song Plasmatics has ever done. Music in Living Dead is amazing as in all tracks of New Hope For The Wretched. Test Tube Babies is a very catchy tune. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. In Concrete Shoes full palet of sound is used by Plasmatics to accentuate the presentation. In Squirm (Live) the music gets its power. Want You Baby is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Dream Lover is nothing but pure genius. Sometimes I is a cool, simple song by Plasmatics at the top of his game. Although Corruption is very melodic it is far from sad. Butcher Baby without a doubt is the standout song of New Hope For The Wretched. Sometimes I (Live) have really caught my ear and imagination. Living Dead (Live) is cool work of Plasmatics. Tight Black Pants (Live) is simple, dignified and effective, Plasmatics refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on New Hope For The Wretched is Butcher Baby (Live). Corruption (Live) is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. You Think You’re Comin’ is one of the best records ever. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit.
