Since Popol Vuh last CD (Aguirre) on EMI Records back in 1976, I have felt a massive void in my life. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Popol Vuh. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Popol Vuh on ‘Aguirre I’. This is one of Popol Vuh best albums
Morgengruss I is a very catchy tune. Aguirre I is one of the more up-tempo songs on Aguirre. Agnus Dei is another favourite of mine. The song feels complete. Spirit Of Peace [Part 1] is probably one of Popol Vuh’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. A fantastic track full of wonder. I have all of Popol Vuh’s tracks and Spirit Of Peace [Part 3] is probably the most his introspective effort.
