On Learning To Crawl album, Pretenders have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Pretenders had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. I Hurt You make listening to Pretenders like being in some sort of time warp. Middle Of The Road is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. My City Was Gone is possibly the best song Pretenders has come up. Show Me - My least favorite song on this album. Thin Line Between Love And Hate which is my favorite is a truly Pretenders sounding song. Thumbelina - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Pretenders. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Learning To Crawl.
