Opening track Toujours l’amour shows the best of Procol Harum. What sets A Rum Tale apart is Procol Harum’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Music and lyrics of T.V. Caesar creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. There is excellent mix of music in A Souvenir of London. Bringing Home the Bacon is one of these floating songs. For Liquorice John is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Fires (Which Burnt Brightly) defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Robert’s Box is probably the most interesting track on Grand Hotel.
