Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Puhdys on ‘Computerkarriere’. It’s natural for Puhdys to take a stab at ‘Computerkarriere’ considering her long-professed love for Godsplague. Since completing 1983’s ‘Computerkarriere’, Puhdys fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
It took me a little time but I ended up loving Flieg Mit Mir. Jahreszeiten is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Stop Baby, Stop is simple, dignified and effective, Puhdys refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Karriere is the albums biggest surprise. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Tv-Show is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Computertraume. Computerman is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Schopfung without a doubt is the standout song of Computer-Karriere.
