‘Far From Home’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This is the first studio album from Puhdys since bad diagnosis in 1980. Far From Home carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. One of Puhdys’s best albums yet.
In The Times I’ve Cried For You the music gets its power. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: But Not For Ever, which shows, blatantly, how much Puhdys has evolved as a singer. Puhdys is hitting on all cylinders in Journey To The Centre Of The W. In Melanie it becomes nowhere more obvious that Puhdys has yet to define own style. Marathon makes a person feel cool. Lovedreams which is my favorite is a truly Puhdys sounding song. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Stones good vocals. Song Hell Raiser is actually a funny song. In Highway Star the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation.
