Thom Yorke has compared writing for Ralph Towner’s new album to that on ‘Blue Sun’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. After seeing The Prince And The Sage, I had to have a good Ralph Towner cd. Lead single “The Prince And The Sage” and “C.T. Kangaroo” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Such great and happy songs.
C.T. Kangaroo can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Ralph Towner is all about. Mevlana Etude is probably the highlight of the album. Such hits like Wedding Of The Streams will leave you hooked. Shadow Fountain is a song to enjoy for years to come. Rumours Of Rain has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album.
