This is the first studio album from Raul Seixas since bad diagnosis in 1980. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Raul Seixas energies, virtually a rebirth. Raul Seixas had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This is what good Latin should be.
Aluga-Se is so unique, as each one of the songs is. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Opening track Angela shows the best of Raul Seixas. Conversa Pra Boi Dormir on Abre-Te Sesamo is solid and easy to listen to. One listen to the sheer beauty of Minha Viola was all I needed. Rock Das “Aranha” stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. I loved O Conto Do Sabio Chines the first time I heard it. I like the agression and power of So Pra Variar. Baby is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. E Meu Pai is a striking and quite long song. I now have A Beira Do Pantanal as one of my personal favorites.
