After seeing Casa bianca, I had to have a good Retro - Various Artists cd. Since completing 1963’s ‘Casa bianca’, Retro - Various Artists fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. I Grandi Interpreti Anni (1963) carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. I Grandi Interpreti Anni (1963) is not something you should pass up.
La tua immagine is the funkiest number on the album. I like the idea behind Permette signora. In un fiore is almost impossible to review. L uomo e la valigia has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Retro - Various Artists is hitting on all cylinders in Tam Tam. La ballata del Cerruti the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. By my beby is astounding. Come nasce un amore make listening to Retro - Various Artists like being in some sort of time warp. Divina rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on I Grandi Interpreti Anni (1963) is Romantica. Guarda come dondolo is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. I find myself hearing bits of T amo e t amero here and there throughout my waking hours. In Parlami d amore Marie you won’t find any flashy solos.
