Rick James and Stone City Band’s debut, ‘Street Songs’, does not fit easily into one genre. Rick James and Stone City Band had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. While no new Rick James and Stone City Band album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1981 tour in Africa. Smart music for smart people.
Ghetto Life - For me, this is the best of the album. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. I listened to the opening track Mr. Policeman and liked it a lot. When listening to Super Freak, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Fire And Desire is a very catchy tune. Call Me Up is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Below The Funk (Pass The J) is one of the best records ever.
