This album has some very good songs like Zuni Song and Whippoorwill. Changes carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Roberto Carlos Nakai had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Changes is the best essence of Roberto Carlos Nakai.
Still going through Changes and coming to appreciate Whippoorwill more and more with every listen. Music and lyrics of Wioste Olowan Koki Ya creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. 12-13-82 Song is exquisite work of Roberto Carlos Nakai. December Snow is a striking and quite long song. Roberto Carlos Nakai sings Winter Solstice in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. When I listen to Wioste Olowan Ikpan Ta-Ya (Lakota Lullaby) in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. 11-20-82 Song is just simply stunning. 12-13-82 Song No. 2 is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. The song 11-11-82 Song ending is my favorite… so catchy! Death Song - Lament is a perfect song and it grows on you. 10-18-82 Song is a bit different from Roberto Carlos Nakai stereotypical stuff. Blood Round Dance Song - Okay, I just talked about depth. After few listenings I started to like Improvisational Melody more and more.
