While no new Ron Geesin and Roger Waters album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1970 tour in Europe. Since Ron Geesin and Roger Waters last CD (Music From The Body (Ron Geesin and Roger Waters)) on Blue Note Records back in 1970, I have felt a massive void in my life. On Music From The Body (Ron Geesin and Roger Waters) album, Ron Geesin and Roger Waters have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Great Trance: Psychedelic right here!
Sea Shell and Stone has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. The sound in A Gentle Breeze Blew Through Life is really warm and Ron Geesin and Roger Waters’s signature voice is still very much present. Lick Your Partners is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Chain Of Life is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. The Womb Bit - A nice song. Embryo Thought is one of the best records ever. March Past Of The Embryos is simple, dignified and effective, Ron Geesin and Roger Waters refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Some call More Than Seven Dwarfs In Penis-Land from Music From The Body (Ron Geesin and Roger Waters) as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. The song Dance Of The Red Corpuscles ending is my favorite… so catchy! Body Transport is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. Breathe - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Old Folks Ascension is probably the highlight of the album. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Bed-Time-Dream-Clime, which shows, blatantly, how much Ron Geesin and Roger Waters has evolved as a singer. Piddle In Perspex is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. I find myself hearing bits of Embryonic Womb-Walk here and there throughout my waking hours. Mrs. Throat Goes Walking sets the tone for the entire album. Sea Shell and Soft Stone is a great opener for Music From The Body (Ron Geesin and Roger Waters). This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing.
