On Country Life album, Roxy Music have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. There is so much to love about Roxy Music, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Roxy Music’s debut, ‘Country Life’, does not fit easily into one genre. If I may, I suggest “The Thrill Of It All”. That one song is amazing!
No Roxy Music song has come close to capturing my attention as Three and Nine did. Roxy Music breathes new life into the music in All I Want Is You. In Out Of The Blue full palet of sound is used by Roxy Music to accentuate the presentation. Still going through Country Life and coming to appreciate If It Takes All Night more and more with every listen. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Country Life. I loved Triptych the first time I heard it. Casanova is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. What sets A Really Good Time apart is Roxy Music’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Prairie Rose is the excellent blend of moody yet optimistic tunes.
