This is the first studio album from Roy Buchanan since bad diagnosis in 1973. There is so much to love about Roy Buchanan, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. I am not a real Rock: Blues music type of person, but i have to admit ‘That’s What I Am Here For’ really is amazing. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
Hey Joe is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Voice and instruments in Home Is Where I Lost Her complement each other. Rodney’s Song is nothing but pure genius. That’s What I Am Here For - This one is lively and fun. Roy’s Bluz one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. In Voices the music gets its power. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Please Don’t Turn Me Away from the beginning to the end. Nephesh is perfect and different song.
